UK: New standard framework for competence across the built environment webinar

The UK Engineering Council has provided information in respect of a Webinar on new BSI standards for the built environment

BSI, the British Standards Institution, will run a free online webinar on Thursday 24 September for people working in every aspect of the design, build and management of residential buildings including higher risk residential buildings (HRRBs).

Following on from the work of Dame Judith Hackitt’s Independent Review of Building Regulations and Fire Safety, the Competence Steering Group (CSG) was formed to take forward the recommendations for improving safety. In August 2019 the CSG published its interim report: Raising the Bar. Over 150 institutions and 300 professionals contributed to the 600 page report, which included 67 recommendations to increase public safety and industry competence in the built environment. One recommendation was the creation of a national standard suite of standards and supporting documents.  www.engc.org.uk/news/news/webinar-on-new-bsi-standards-for-the-built-environment/
