Development is a live process.  WOBO Governor David Gibson was pleased to receive the link to activities within Singapore and their roadmap for the future.

Ms Grace Fu, Minister for Sustainability and the Environment, speaking in Parliament on 4 March 2021, during a joint segment on sustainability at the Committee of Supply 2021 Debate in Singapore. In her speech, Minister Fu announced that the Singapore public sector would lead in sustainability, and target to peak its carbon emissions around 2025, ahead of the national target. The public sector will lead by example, and target to peak our emissions around 2025, ahead of the national target. We will encourage and enable citizens and businesses to adopt sustainability practices, such as through green procurement.

We will also:
– Introduce an Eco Stewardship Programme to enhance environmental education in all schools
– Launch the Enterprise Sustainability Programme this year to help local enterprises develop capabilities in sustainability, and capture new opportunities in the green economy.
– Cease new diesel car and taxi registrations from 2025
– Target for 60,000 electric vehicles (EV) charging points to be installed nationwide by 2030, with 8 EV-Ready Towns by 2025.
– Green 80% of our buildings by 2030, and aim for 80% of new buildings to be Super Low Energy buildings from 2030.

The Green Plan will evolve with technological developments and as we incorporate the views of industries and our community. Together, we can transform Singapore into a City of Green Possibilities.
