Energy transition – dates for your diary!
Discover solutions for the energy transition and supply security first hand at The smarter E Europe
Rising electricity and gas prices and the dependence on Russian gas are speeding up the energy transition. It is a matter of urgency and it is within our reach. Ending our dependence on fossil fuels is essential in our efforts to mitigate climate change. And the Russian invasion of Ukraine has added another political level relating to security. We need to see a major shift towards renewable energy in Europe if we are to achieve our climate targets and ensure supply security.
Solar parks are the most important drivers of the PV market. These are increasingly financed with partners in the industrial sector through multiple-year power purchase agreements (PPAs), enabling companies to hedge against rocketing electricity prices and take practical steps towards achieving climate neutrality. Countless new products, services, players and business models, including PPAs, agrivoltaics and floating PV, are developing dynamically right now. They are all part of the solution required to increase the proportion of renewable energy enough to hit the targets by 2030. Green hydrogen is also becoming established as a key element of the energy transition – for example, for seasonal storage and for use in large-scale industries such as the chemical or steel industries. More and more, sector coupling is becoming the backbone of our energy infrastructure, with the likes of photovoltaics, storage and e-mobility being combined.
The smarter E Europe is the largest platform for the energy industry, where cross-industry and cross-sector solutions for the energy transition and supply security in Europe will be presented between May 11–13, 2022, at Messe München.
Around 1450 exhibitors will be showcasing their innovative products, solutions and business models in 12 exhibition halls (A1–A6, B1–B6) across a total exhibition space of 132,000 square meters. Over 50,000 visitors are expected to attend the event – make sure you’re one of them. We look forward to seeing you there!
