Prevent Common Causes Of Fire

You might be surprised to learn how fires at home or work often start.

The most common causes of fire are often completely avoidable and occur as a result of everyday activities or appliances.

The good news? – A few small changes can go a long way.

Here are 5 of the most common causes of fire:

1. Faulty electrics

2. Flammable clutter

3. Unattended cooking

4. Avoidable accidents

5. Careless smoking

So how do we avoid them?

→ Look out for damaged cables, overloaded sockets, and old appliances past their best.

→ Paper, packaging, and general clutter can feed a fire fast. Keep areas clear.

→ It just takes seconds for a small flame to spread. Keep an eye on pans and double-check appliances are off when you’re finished.

→ Watch for things like candles near curtains or clothes near heaters.

→ Dispose of cigarettes safely.

You can dramatically reduce your risk of fire by implementing these small changes at home and at work.
