How subterranean 3D modelling in road and rail differs from mining

Join our free webinar with ground engineering experts Seequent, where we’ll explore how leading projects are already harnessing 3D subsurface modelling to transform the way road and rail infrastructure is planned and delivered.

What we’ll cover:
•    What are the present and future capabilities of this kind of technology?
•    Can ever more complex projects continue using traditional PDF-based data?
•    How can project teams adapt to these new technological expectations?  Register today

Join HSM and HSE on 11 December at 10:30 am for an informative webinar covering some of the key steps to accident and incident investigations.

Every year people are killed or injured at work. Over 30 million working days are lost annually through work-related accidents and illnesses.

By effectively investigating accidents and incidents, organisations can find out what went wrong and identify risks they can easily avoid. Learning lessons and taking action may reduce, or even prevent, accidents in the future.

Content will include gathering and analysing information, identifying control measures and action planning. Presentations will also introduce some of the solutions available from HSE and its partners to support organisations, including the recently launched Accident and Near Miss tool, and refreshed NEBOSH HSE introduction to incident investigation qualification. Join HSM and HSI Donesafe on 16 December at 10:30 am for an informative webinar exploring how data intelligence is redefining EHS strategy, enabling organisations to move beyond hindsight and anticipate risks before they escalate.

As 2026 approaches, leading EHS teams are transforming how they manage safety, risk and compliance – shifting from reactive compliance to proactive risk prevention.

Presenters will discuss how leading organisations are using data analytics and connected technologies to detect patterns, prioritise interventions, and drive continuous improvement. They’ll also explore how digital-first EHS systems are enabling smarter, faster decision-making across complex operations, and examine the shift from lagging to leading indicators — sharing practical ways to apply data insights that strengthen safety performance and reduce incidents.  REGISTER NOW

HSE Training and events

Free webinar: Offshore process isolations – regulatory expectations and learnings – 4 December, 10:30 to 11:30am

Process isolations are critical safety barriers for preventing major accidents during intrusive work on offshore installations, yet HSE continues to find significant failings during inspections and incident investigations.

This webinar, delivered by HSE, aims to reinforce legal requirements and expected practice for process isolations in the UKCS offshore oil and gas sector, and attendees will be provided with information that will help them to:

  • understand potential major accident hazards during use of isolations
  • appreciate isolation design and selection of standards
  • understand risk assessment and use of variations from benchmark standards
  • learn about planning and preparation of isolations, including draining, venting, purging and flushing (DVPF)
  • understand installation requirements, including integrity testing
  • recognise training and competence requirements
  • appreciate monitoring, audit and review processes

Sponsored by ROCKWOOL®, this CPD module explores the role of fire stopping, setting out the legal liabilities for all parties involved in the design, construction and installation process, as well as outlining best practice for design and installation of relevant products

Learning objectives

  • Understand your legal liability in respect to the provision of fire protection.
  • Recognise the importance of effective compartmentation.
  • Apply knowledge of fire behaviour, combustibility and Euroclass ratings to design and specification.

Complete this module today to ensure you fully understand your legal liability and the rigorous new compliance requirements under the Building Safety Act.

Can subterranean modelling now improve complex infrastructure projects?

Don’t miss this Webinar discussion with Ground Engineering experts Seequent.

Watch it on Demand today. – What was covered:

Can we capture enough data to make 3D subsurface modelling truly transformative?

  • How adaptable are these models when risks or changes arise?
  • What challenges exist in getting multiple project partners to adopt 3D workflows?
  • Real-world examples of how Seequent software has improved productivity, efficiency, and safety in complex ground conditions.

Environment, Health & Safety Legislation: Your Questions Answered;

Last month, we ran our October Legislation Update webinars covering the key changes across fire safety, health and safety, and environmental compliance – as well as how they could affect your organisation.

More than 10,000 professionals registered to join us, and we received hundreds of brilliant questions during the sessions.

This month, we’re hosting a dedicated follow-up Q&A webinar to answer as many of those questions as we can.

Whether you joined last week’s webinars or not, this is a great opportunity to:

  • Get clarity on recent legislative changes and what they mean in practice
  • Hear the most common questions from your peers
  • Understand how upcoming developments could impact your role and organisation.

Martyn’s Law Security Installer’s Guide – What UK Venues & Installers Must Do by 2027

Strengthen your services and stay ahead of Martyn’s Law deadlines

Martyn’s Law received Royal Assent in April 2025, marking a major shift in UK venue security. This legislation sets new requirements for public spaces to help protect the public in the event of a terrorist attack.

With compliance deadlines approaching in 2027, venues across the UK will soon need expert installers to upgrade their security infrastructure — presenting new opportunities for installers ready to take action.

With System Q, you can be ready to meet this demand, equipped with the knowledge, products, and support to help venues achieve full compliance under Martyn’s Law.

BSR chair calls for wider contractor competence: what it means for you

The Chair of the Shadow Building Safety Regulator has called for building safety reforms to go further and specifically to include subcontractors, specialist trades and engineering roles.

His message was clear: there are still gaps in the supply chain where competence, training and accountability are not being managed to the same standard as principal contractors. That creates unnecessary risk on construction projects.

What this means for employers and site managers:

  • you should be able to evidence training and competence not only for your own staff but also for subcontracted roles
  • you may need clearer procedures for onboarding and monitoring subcontractors
  • training content will increasingly need to reflect the requirements of the Building Safety Act and the direction set by the BSR

At Lighthouse Safety we already deliver training that supports this approach, including CITB site management and supervision courses, IOSH and NEBOSH programmes, and tailored courses for those overseeing contractors.

We will continue to monitor updates from the Building Safety Regulator and keep you informed.

If you would like to review your current training or arrange a course for your management team, please get in touch.  FULL ARTICLE HERE  MORE INFO ON UPCOMING COURSES

Confused by the mixed signals from sustainability buyers – shrinking budgets one quarter, urgent RFPs the next?

Regulatory flip-flops, tighter budgets, and slower buying cycles are making it harder than ever for solution providers to position clearly and win deals.

In this webinar, our analysts will break down the data shaping 2026 demand – and show you how vendors can sharpen their positioning, defend value, and stay relevant as the market matures. Our insight is rooted in direct conversations with sustainability buyers – we’ll show you where demand is softening, where it’s accelerating, and how leading vendors are adapting their playbooks to win.  Reserve your seat
