ICC Delivers the First Cayman Islands Custom Building Code

ICC presented representatives from the Cayman Islands Ministry of Planning, Lands, Agriculture, Housing & Infrastructure with the islands’ first custom building code. While the Ministry has adopted previous versions of the International Codes® (I-Codes®), the Cayman Islands Building Code is the first to be published under its name, signifying the islands’ ownership of the code. The goal of the standard is to develop a performance standard based upon existing ICC-ES Acceptance Criteria and related documents for spray-applied foam plastic insulation for use by industry and inclusion in construction codes. ICC Board Concludes Review of ICC 605, Announces Path Forward for Future Wildland-Urban Interface Code Development

While ICC 605, Standard for Residential Construction in Regions with Wildfire Hazard, is being sunset, the work completed will play a meaningful role in shaping the next generation of wildland-urban interface codes.
