“It is our pleasure to share our recent paper “On the potential of building adaptation measures to counterbalance the impact of climatic change in the tropics” by Shamila Haddad, Adrian Barker, Junjing Yang, Devi Ilamathy Mohan Kumar, Samira Garshasbi, Riccardo Paolini, and Mattheos Santamouris, published in Energy & Buildings.

Here, we examined the impact of climate change on indoor temperature, survivability, and energy demand and showed how this can be offset using building improvement measures. Our study indicates that improved building quality is necessary to enhance survivability and energy efficiency in the tropical city of Darwin considering the role of building adaptation measures to counterbalance the impacts of global warming. Further, it highlights potential benefits of advanced sustainable cooling techniques in building applications”.
