The latest update from the Australian Building Codes Board provides an introduction to their new Chief Executive Officer, Gary Rake, and provides an update on developments taking place including advice for plumbing practitioners on the new lead requirements.
You will soon notice increasing numbers of plumbing products containing reduced levels of lead in the marketplace. The National Construction Code (NCC) 2022 will introduce a new limit for the allowable level of lead in plumbing products used for drinking water. This requirement will come into effect on 1 September 2025.
