Key appointments unveiled for Building Safety Competence Foundation
TWO KEY appointments have been announced by the Building Safety Competence Foundation (BSCF), the Community Interest Company set up by Local Authority Building Control (LABC) in 2021 as a public interest organisation to provide a range of services for the construction industry. Unsprinklered Blackburn furniture factory destroyed by devastating fire
AN EARLY morning blaze at an industrial estate in Blackburn destroyed the production facilities of a local furniture upholsterer. The devastating fire swept through the unsprinklered upholstery unit, sending plumes of orange smoke across the town, with the business and several others now counting the cost of the damage and dealing with the disruption posed to livelihoods. It provides advice and explains regulatory requirements, including changes made under the Gas Safety (Management) (Amendment) Regulations 2023 which came into force on 6 April 2023.
