Wind Solution Gives Commercial Property Owners Rooftop Option to Generate Renewable Energy
A bladeless wind energy solution designed to integrate with building electrical systems and existing solar energy systems is helping commercial property owners meet demands for on-site renewable energy. Aeromine Technologies’ innovative, motionless system easily installs on the edge of a building generating up to 50% more energy at the same cost as rooftop solar.

Welsh Ministers have approved Upper Ogmore Wind Farm and energy storage project, located near Blaengarw and Nant-y-Moel in Bridgend, to be developed by renewable energy company RES.
RES has received approval for the 25 MW Upper Ogmore Wind Farm and energy storage project, which will generate low-cost renewable electricity to help decarbonise homes and industry, and support Wales’ transition to a low carbon economy.
The company has been progressing proposals for the seven-turbine wind farm and energy storage project since 2017 from its Cardiff office. The proposals had been refined through several design iterations based on feedback received during the public consultation process and information gathered during detailed site survey work.
“This a great result for renewable energy in Wales and our efforts to tackle climate change as a country” said Chris Jackson, Project Manager. “The clean, green electricity produced will make a significant contribution to our target of 70 percent of electricity to come from renewables by 2030. We also know developing new onshore wind projects in Wales is popular and that they deliver significant local economic benefits. At Upper Ogmore we expect that £16 million in business rates will be paid across the lifetime of the project, helping to support vital local services in the area.”
Artemis Technologies Unveils 100% Electric Passenger Ferry
Leading maritime design and applied technologies company Artemis Technologies has unveiled the design of its new 100% electric EF-24 Passenger vessel, targeting the global high-speed ferry market.
First Bus Scotland has received a major sustainability award at the 2022 Scottish Transport Awards for the completion of the UK’s largest electric vehicle charging hub at its Caledonia depot.
Located in the south side of Glasgow, the project saw First Bus’ Caledonia depot transformed with the installation of 160 state of the art, rapid charging points installed over the last 12 months. Its completion allows 150 electric vehicles to be charged at one time and its completion was a landmark moment in First Bus’ journey towards being emission-free by 2035.
First Bus is continuing to invest heavily in its decarbonisation journey after confirming £35 million is being invested in 74 brand new electric buses and supporting infrastructure in Glasgow and Aberdeen. The work to transform its Scotstoun and Aberdeen depots into state of the art electric vehicle charging hubs is expected to take 12 months with the arrival of the buses set to mark an important milestone for the First Bus fleets in each city.
