This two-day class (1.2 CEU) course is designed to examine and evaluate code requirements for work performed on existing buildings, including historic and relocated structures. Students will learn to identify and classify work such as repairs, Level 1,2, and 3 alterations, and changes of occupancy, gaining a solid understanding of how each classification affects code compliance.
Participants will utilize point-based methods to assess fire safety, means of egress, and general safety, applying these tools to real-worldbuilding scenarios. The course also prepares students to recognize and resolve conflicts between codes, standards, and product listings equipping them with knowledge to apply the correct requirements with confidence and accuracy.
