Join FSM and DVS on 18 March at 10:30am for a comprehensive introduction to Video Flame Detection (VFD) and the LPS1976 product standard.

This webinar will explain how VFD technology works, its advantages over traditional smoke and heat detection, and why it has become an essential solution for challenging industrial environments.

It will outline the limitations of conventional detection methods, particularly in areas with high ceilings, airborne contamination, extreme temperatures, moisture, or outdoor airflow, and demonstrate how VFD overcomes these issues by detecting actual flame rather than the by-products of fire. Different types of video detection (smoke, heat, and flame) will be compared, including their suitability, restrictions, and common false-alarm triggers. All attendees will receive a CPD certificate. Join FSM and Hyfire on 31 March at 10:30am to explore how wireless fire detection is transforming modern fire safety and what the latest BS 5839-1:2025 updates mean for compliance and system design.

In this session you’ll learn how wireless fire detection systems:

• Enable faster, less disruptive installation across a variety of environments from heritage buildings to busy industrial sites.

• Deliver long-term value through scalable design, cleaner aesthetics and future expansion readiness.

• Align with the updated BS 5839-1:2025 standard to support compliant fire safety strategies that integrate performance, documentation and reliability.

Whether you’re a fire safety professional, installer, designer or building manager, this webinar will equip you with actionable insight into wireless solutions and compliance best practice.  All attendees will receive a CPD certificate. Register now

Join FSM and Apollo on 9 April at 10:30am to gain information on the standard EN 54 Part 23. This information includes standards, design, coverage, and available products.

EN54-23 was published in the UK in 2010 and became mandatory on 1st January 2014, after which any Visual Alarm Device (VAD) newly installed and used as the primary means of warning as part of a fire alarm system must conform to it.

This presentation gives information covering:

  • EN54-23 overview
  • The difference between VIDs & VADs
  • Selecting a VAD for a specific application
  • Ceiling, Wall, & O class VADs explained

Join us on 25 February 2026 at 10:30am to explore how organisations can move from traditional physical credentials to mobile-based access, and how this shift can enhance access control while supporting smarter, more efficient buildings.

Why are so many organisations considering this shift? What’s driving the transition? And how can you assess whether mobile access aligns with your long-term security and digital-transformation plans? This session will answer these questions – and raise a few important ones you may not have considered yet.
Gain insight into real-world best practices for planning and implementing a mobile-ready access strategy, guided by an industry expert who works closely with organisations navigating this shift every day. By the end of the session, you’ll understand the key considerations and practical approaches that support a smooth, sustainable migration from legacy credentials to mobile-enabled access – helping you make informed, confident decisions grounded in best practice rather than guesswork.

Do you work in Compliance and Risk, Operations, Facilities/Property or IT? Or are you finding that information security is creeping under your remit?

It’s often misunderstood – and that confusion can lead to risky decisions.
In our upcoming webinar, Luke Peach (Head of InfoSec Ops, Bulletproof from WorkNest), will explain what “good” information security looks like and how to get there, with clear links to ISO 27001 compliance.
This session is for professionals who are used to managing compliance obligations and want the same clarity for information security.

Join IP&E and SKF at 10:30am to explore From Firefighting to Predictive Maintenance: Proven Ways to Boost Uptime in UK Industry. In this webinar, we’ll cut through complexity and focus on what matters most to plant, reliability and maintenance leaders: how to prevent failures before they happen and keep critical assets running safely, efficiently and sustainably.

You’ll discover:

  • Why unplanned downtime is accelerating and where hidden failure risks typically originate in today’s plants.
  • How maintenance skill gaps and staffing shortages are impacting reliability – and what practical steps can mitigate these challenges.
  • Proven approaches to maximising uptime using condition monitoring, smart maintenance and data‑driven services.
  • Real‑world customer cases demonstrating measurable improvements in reliability, energy use, MTBF and maintenance workload.
  • How SKF partners with industry to deliver predictable, stable operations rather than simply supplying components.

Taking an “outside‑in” perspective, we focus on the real operational pain points you face daily and show how targeted, scalable solutions can improve reliability, availability and output, fast. You’ll leave with clear, practical insights you can apply immediately to strengthen your plant’s performance and resilience. All attendees will receive a one-hour CPD certificate. Register now

New video launched for on-torch extraction controlling exposure to welding fume Exposure to all welding fume, including mild steel welding fume, can cause lung cancer.

Our informative video aims to help you control worker exposure to welding fume by making effective use of on-torch Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV). This type of extraction is built into the welding torch, allowing fumes to be captured right at source before they can be inhaled and cause ill-health. The video covers:

  • basic operational principles
  • good welding practices
  • common issues and solutions
  • importance of training and workplace culture

Watch the video at our YouTube channel: On-torch extraction practical guidance, tips and adviceHSE’s website has further advice on controlling the risks from welding.
