Hydrogen Training for the Public Sector

Hydrogen production and use will play an increasing role in our energy mix as we move forward to net zero but hydrogen as a subject will be new to many parts of the public sector. The Scottish Government working with University of Edinburgh, University of Strathclyde and University of Aberdeen have designed an Introduction to Hydrogen for the Public Sector  training course to support local authority teams involved with hydrogen projects’ planning and consents.

The course consists of four videos:

  1. Background to Hydrogen
  2. Hydrogen Production and Demand
  3. Hydrogen Transport and Storage
  4. Hydrogen HSE and Regulations

The course modules are now freely available, on the Improvement Service website, to policymakers and members of the public with an interest in hydrogen to raise awareness of its role in the energy mix and the technologies involved.
