International Building Code (2021)

February 28, 2024 – March 6, 2024 | 8:45 AM – 4:00 PM CST

A 6-day training session structured for municipal inspectors, design professionals, contractors, and engineers to have an in-depth understanding of the use, application, intent, and rationale of the 2021 International Building Code.

This course incorporates direct instruction and purposeful discussions based on individual levels of experience. Additionally, this course is recommended for individuals interested in gaining insight in commercial building plan reviews, commercial inspections, and code application implemented during the design process.

Course Organization Is As Follows:

Day 1: Scope & Administration, Definitions, Use & Occupancy Classifications, Types of Construction as it relates to Building Heights & Areas.

Day 2: Types of Construction as it relates to Fire & Smoke Protection

Day 3: Means of Egress

Day 4: Special Requirements Based on Use & Occupancy, Fire Protection Systems

Day 5: Interior Environmental, Exterior Walls, Roofs, Structural – review of concepts, Special Inspections, Soil Basics, Wood

Day 6: Concrete, Aluminum, Masonry, Steel, Gas, Gypsum, Plastic, Electrical, Plumbing, Elevators, Special Construction, Encroachment, Safeguards.
