Join the United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs (UN DESA) on 28 March as we keep the forest conversation going after the International Day of Forests! This year, the UN is celebrating the theme, “Forests and Innovation: New Solutions for a Better World,” and UN DESA will organize a virtual Global Policy Dialogue highlighting several interesting innovations for sustainable forest management as well as better ways to improve monitoring and data-gathering related to forests. Experts from the UN Forum on Forests Secretariat and the Food and Agricultural Organization of the UN, along with speakers working in the field, will share their best practices for achieving Sustainable Development Goal 15, Life on Land.
Our event is free and open to all, and also will be streamed live on UN DESA’s Facebook page. It will be held in English with captions available in other languages on Zoom. The virtual event is made possible by the United Nations Office for Sustainable Development and United Nations Peace and Development Trust Fund.
