Safety is key and WOBO is pleased to provide a link to the CABE Wales Region CPD event.

C3 Design Approvals Ltd’s Jon Cumberlidge will be presenting, ‘Building a Safer Future – Building Regulation Fire Safety Update 2021’ on the 24th February for the Chartered Association of Building Engineers.

The presentation provide an overview of some the issues surrounding external wall fire performance and the changes to Part B and Regulation 7, including the Nov 2020 update Approved Document B including sprinklers and signage for firefighters. Jon will also give an overview of proposed new building safety regime, touching on the Hackitt review, the Building Safety Regulator and standards for competence.

Jon has over two decades of experience in the construction industry and has loved every minute of it. He had a childhood passion for Lego and progressed to laying real bricks after leaving school. His career took a move from site and into building control in 2006. In 2018 he co-founded C3 Design Approvals – an Approved Inspector who’s small, but highly qualified expert team provide building regulation and fire safety compliance services across England and Wales.

Jon has experience most sectors including specialist sectors such as Custodial and Defence. Amongst his career highlights are involvement with the construction of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Birmingham, the Library of Birmingham, University of Northampton’s Waterside Campus, the Royal Birmingham Conservatoire.
