The World Organization of Building Officials is committed to the recognition that our growth and strength reflects on the safety and the essential role it plays in our homes, buildings and infrastructure in everyday life and when disasters strike.
Our confidence in the resilience of these buildings, that make up our communities, are achieved through the devotion of vigilant guardians––building safety and fire prevention officials, architects, engineers, builders, tradespeople, design professionals, labourers, plumbers, manufacturers, and others who contribute within the construction industry––who work year-round to ensure the safe construction, redevelopment, and maintenance of the built environment
Modern building codes and standards include safeguards to protect the public from hazards such as hurricanes, snowstorms, tornadoes, wildland fires, floods and earthquakes.
